Jeffrey Helgemo

Watertown - Jeffrey Helgemo, 72, of Watertown, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2019 at Watertown Regional Medical Center in Watertown. Jeffrey was born on May 11, 1947, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Robert Helgemo and Jessie Danow. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the Navy, during the period of 1965-1971. Jeff was a long-time union roofer, finishing his long career with Langer Roofing. He enjoyed life by hunting and fishing, watching Nascar, the Packers, and goofing with his grandchildren. Jeff was a very outgoing man that loved people and had many friends to show it. He will be sorely missed. Jeff is survived by his longtime partner Sherry Chatfield, his loving daughters Christie Helgemo, ( Rocky Hoes,) and Julie Helgemo, step-children Kathy Kelly, Mary (Collin) Schessler, Steve Ruhs, and Sarah Ruhs (Issiaka), honorary son Dan St. John, and grandchildren, Adelaide, Lucas, Dylan and Michaela. Also, survived by his sisters Jean Larson, Elaine Nowakowski, Dee Dee (Duane) Hill and his loving brother Timothy (Claudia) Helgemo. He is also, survived by his previous wife, Mary and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry Danow, a sister Deolores and step-daughter Lisa. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home in Watertown with his brother Timothy officiating the services. Relatives and friends may gather at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 6:00 p.m. An Honor Guard will honor Jeff following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials (if desired) may be made to Fish for Kids (fishforkids.org) and/or the Spina Bifida Association (spinabifidaassociation.org).
