Joseph Radocay Sr.

Joseph Radocay Sr., 95, of Watertown, formerly of Oak Creek, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Brook Gardens in Lake Mills.

Joseph was born on February 7, 1925 in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, the son of Nicholas and Dorothy (Dobron) Radocay. He proudly served our country during World War II in the United States Army in the Big Red One Division for 3 years. He drove an ammunition truck to the front lines in the Eastern European Theatre and Battle of the Bulge. He married the love of his life Helen “Joyce” Cook on October 7, 1950 in Oak Creek and the couple enjoyed 70 wonderful years of marriage. He worked for Peter Cooper as a machinist for many years then worked for the Oak Creek Water Department after his retirement. Joseph had a passion for sports, playing different sports in his younger years, especially fast pitch softball and boxing and watching his grandchildren play sports as they grew up. He was an avid Brewers and Packers fan. Joseph was a handyman, he enjoyed working on cars and completing many woodworking projects. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to have known him.

Joseph is survived by his wife, children Joe (Robin) Radocay, Judi (Ed) Adolphson, Jane (Jim) Miller, and Jonna (Rick) Hobbs. 9 grandchildren: Jason (Leah), Jerrad (Ellen), Jessica (Andy), Rachel (Brian), Valerie (Kevin), Aaron (Sarah), Ted, Jake (Gabby), and Janelle (Justin). 9 Great-Grandchildren: Owen, Leo, Nolan, Hope, Jax, Easton, Ripken, Steele, and Sterling. Sisters Veronica Lazarski and Nancy (Don) Engelbert, and sister-in-law Dorothy Takach. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary and brothers Nick and John.

A private family memorial service will be held at the Schmutzler-Vick Funeral Home.
