Laurence Albrecht

December 13, 1967 — April 14, 2020

Laurence Harold Keith Albrecht breathed his last in the early morning of April 14, 2020. He left behind a son, Dakota Albrecht of Marshall, a daughter, Kaiya Albrecht of Waterloo, his mother, Kathleen Qualmann Albrecht of Marshall and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Dad died a very private man who loved his family in his own special way, and was fiercely loyal to his small circle of friends. Of course we, his children, didn't know him his entire life, but we heard the stories of how he spent countless hours at the Albrecht Family farm as a boy and young man. He regaled us with stories of how he drove tractors at a young age and had a good time skiing in cow manure by holding on to a cow's tail. By far though, the memories that brought the most smiles to his face were related to the Marshall Fireman's Festival Tractor Pulls. He loved to talk about everything from the prepping the tractors to seeing the black smoke pour out as the tractor runs down the track. Boy he loved that!! He was confirmed in 1979 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and he was a 1987 graduate of Marshall High School. We heard stories of how he loved to play rock music and he "tortured" our grandma by playing "Hot for Teacher" by Van Halen as loud and as often as he could on his stereo. Besides my sister and I, my dad's next loves were fishing and hunting. He had some great stories about many hunting trips up north at deer camp. For those that were with him... not everything that happened at deer camp, stayed at deer camp. LOL! Additionally, some of his favorite memories include his coveted fishing trip to Canada. He spoke of the waters being so much bluer, trees greener, and air cleaner than he had ever seen/breathed. The pictures we have of him from that trip capture some of his biggest smiles we have ever seen. He was preceeded in death by some of his favorite people; Great Grandmother, Ida Walters (Mayville); Grandparents; Helmuth and Elena Qualmann of Marshall, and Bernice Albrecht of Marshall. An uncle, Robert Qualmann of Marshall, his father, Larry Albrecht of Marshalll. We are sure they were all waiting to welcome him to the pearly gates of heaven! Because Dad was so private, he requested no funeral. Instead, his ashes will be interred next to his father in St. Mary's Cemetery in Marshall, WI at a date to be determined in the future. Rest in peace Dad. We will miss you.
